Matsushita sees growing demand for PDPs

Matsushita Electric Industrial Company Ltd intends to increase its share of the global market for plasma display panels (PDPs) by 30% by 2002. From a demand 200,000 units in fiscal year (FY) 2000, the company sees its orders for PDPs climb to 500,000 next fiscal year, to 800,000 units in FY2002. Hence, the company will have to strengthen its production and sales of PDPs.
