A possible market for intelligent electrotechnologies linked by telecommunications gateways will be in the small- and mid-sized commercial and industrial sectors. Devices with microprocessors will be able to communicate directly with equipment manufacturers or maintenance companies.

Electronic kits are a fun and inexpensive way to investigate high-tech microelectronics. The kits, which are sold for $10 to $20, come with a printed circuit board, electronic components and assembly instructions. Burglar alarms and transistor radios can be built with simple kits.
