Factory automation deal teams Toshiba, GE

Article Abstract:

Toshiba Corp and General Electric Co have formed an joint venture, tentatively called Toshiba GE Automation Systems International LLC, which provide factory automation systems. Toshiba will own 51% and GE 49% in the joint venture, which will start operating on Oct 2000. The joint venture will maintain a subsidiary in Tokyo, Japan, which will handle marketing operations for Asia and Oceania, and in Virginia, which will handle marketing for North, South and Latin America.

qMedia giant, electronics goliath tackle joint role as movie producer

Article Abstract:

Nippon Television Network Corp, Warner Borthers and Toshiba Corp have entered into a joint venture to create motion picture and television production and distribution company Towani Corp. Towani will begin operating with a paid-in initial capital of 300 million yen and is expected to produce one or two movies a year beginning in 2000. It will also undertake productions for television broadcast. Its products will target a global audience.

3-way venture eyes satellite, data broadcasts

Article Abstract:

Telemann Communications Company Ltd was formed in Jan 1999 by partners Victor Company of Japan Ltd (JVC), Kyosei Communications and Electronics Company Ltd and Global Telemann Systems Inc to provide satellite data communications service. The joint venture has an initial capital of 100 million yen and represents JVC's entry into the satellite and data broadcasts arenas.
