Foreign pole attachments: the electric utility's burden

Article Abstract:

Electric utilities usually face problems of pole loading due to joint attachments made by cable and telephone companies. Electric utilities should perform regular inspections and repair damages to ensure safety. Pole owners should not allow attachments if they appear to exceed the loading standards.
