Fujitsu General casts big plans for LCD projectors

Article Abstract:

Japanese manufacturer Fujitsu General Ltd has widened its product range while bolstering its marketing efforts in the US and Asia in a bid to capture 10% of the worldwide market for liquid crystal display (LCD) projectors. A company spokesperson said that Fujitsu already has a roughly 3% share of this global market, and intends to increase this to 4% in FY 1999. Fujitsu General has a leading R and D role for LCD projectors within the Fujitsu group of companies.

EDP-4700 LCD projectors

Article Abstract:

Elmo Company Ltd has developed the EDP-4700 LCD projector. The product features an A4-size body and weighs 3.7 kg. It has a 150W Ultra High Power lamp that generates a brightness of 1,200 lumens and a contrast of 400:1. It comes with a remote controller that integrates a mouse function and a laser pointer. The projector uses three 0.9-in LCD panels and handles true XGA as well as digitally compressed SXGA and UXGA images. It is priced at 898,000 yen.

Matsushita to sell 1,000 large venue DLP projectors in FY2001

Article Abstract:

Matsushita Electric Industrial Company Ltd is expecting to sell 1,000 large venue projectors equipped with Digital Light Processing (DLP) devices in FY2001. The figure compares to 400 DLP projectors sold in FY2000. The firm is offering three DLP projectors in its Lightia series of projectors. The DLP projectors are the TH-D8500J, with 7,000 lumens, the TH-D9500J, with 10,000 lumens, and the TH-D9600J, with 12,000 lumens.
