Industry Beaming Upbeat Message Over Second-Half Sales Prospects

Article Abstract:

Personal communications suppliers expect above normal increases in sales during the second half of 1984. CB and emergency radio are expected to reach a new second generation of consumers. Radar detector suppliers see no price erosion despite increased competition. The biggest stimulus for increased sales is the improved economy. Sales of mobile phones are expected to rise over the summer as there is more travel. Aftermarket business for antennas continues strong.

C.B. Barn Proving PC Alive, Well and Ready for Holidays

Bette Daley is the owner-manager of C.B. Barn in Matthews, North Carolina. The personal communications specialty store carries a wide selection of CBs, car stereo systems, radar detectors, scanners and accessories. Sales at the store have tripled since its opening in 1976. Photographs of the store are included.
