Article Abstract:

The Hong Kong economy recovers after being hit by the SARS virus. The Closer Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between Hong Kong and China will facilitate Hong Kong to export to China at free tariff. The surplus of CE products produced in the country is visible in the Hong Kong Electronics Fair. Branded products from leading companies like Apex, Nakamichi, Akai and NHJ were featured in the Fair.

Some of the new electronic devices introduced by few companies at the Internationale Funkausstellung (IFA), a consumer electronics show, in Berlin, Germany, are presented. HDTV and its standards which have been the main highlight of the show are also discussed.
