MAV-555 offers familiar VTR feel plus benefits of non-linear editing

Sony's new MAV-555 Multi Access Video Disk Recorder is geared for used by sports broadcasters that demand such features as instant slow-motion replay and highlight editing. The MAV-555 can edit or playout while continuing to record. Other features include tape-to-disc editing, disc- to-tape editing and inside disc editing. It also provides for VTR-like scene search through the Jog/VAR/Shuttle dial. The MAV-555 can also execute A/B roll edits and A/V split edits in real time without a rendering process.
