Matsushita charges up for lithium ion rechargeable battery drive

Article Abstract:

Matsushita Battery Industrial Company Ltd is enhancing its efforts to develop lithium ion batteries in preparation to changes in the demand for rechargeable batteries in overseas markets. The company already has an extensive lineup of lithium ion, nickel-metal hydride, nickel-cadmium and sealed lead-acid batteries which it hopes to elevate to top-class performance to meet specific market requirements. In addition to its drive to enter the lithium ion battery market, Matsushita is also enhancing its efforts for prismatic batteries to meet the demand from notebook computers.

Toshiba's 3.6mm-thin rechargeable battery powers mobile phones

Article Abstract:

Toshiba Battery Company Ltd is introducing one of the thinnest prismatic lithium ion rechargeable battery for use in mobile phones. Called the LAB363562, the Advanced Lithium-Ion Rechargeable Battery, will be mass- produced through A and T Battery Corp, a joint venture of Asahi Chemical Industry Company ltd, Toshiba Battery and Toshiba Corp. The battery offers better performance than other models at low temperatures and can withstand heavy loads.
