Multimedia speakers sound off

Manufacturers of multimedia speakers have introduced their latest product lines with Dolby, USB and multichannel sounds capabilities. Labtec has added three new model to its Audio F/X Series: the three-piece LCS-2422, the flat-panel plus subwoofer LCS-2416 and the five-piece LCS-2514. Yamaha has launched its YST0Ms30 three-piece system and the YST-MS35 with USB interface. Other new products include Kinyo's AC-3 5.1 Dolby Digital home theater system, Polk Audio's Active Media Reference line of aftermarket multimedia speakers and Harman Kardon's JBL Media Systems 2000 multimedia system.

Among the firms which have introduced new data transfer devices include Sony, SanDisk, PNY Technologies, Lexar Media and Olympus. Sony's Memory Stick is a small integrated circuit digital storage media which allows transfer of music, data and image content among several devices. Its other possible applications include telephone, TV and music.
