Predictive maintenance: what does it do?

US industry loses about $66 billion annually on unnecessary maintenance of plant and equipment. Predictive maintenance, a process involving planned and periodic maintenance of equipment to forestall breakdown, can improve the efficiency of industrial maintenance programs.
