To E-tax or not to E-tax..

Article Abstract:

Electronic commerce (e-commerce) taxation was one of the hot topics during the International Consumer Electronics Show in Jan 2000. The absence of a precedence for taxing online e-commerce transactions is causing problems in the collection of sales taxes. The ability of online businesses to change locations at will has also resulted in the near impossibility of implementing conventional taxing procedures.

Private label credit on the 'net

Article Abstract:

The financial service industry is tapping the Internet as part of their marketing strategy. Credit card companies are forming partnerships with Internet companies that want to issue private-label cards. One company, SPS Payment Systems will start issuing private-label cards to Gateway clients, effective Apr 1, 1999. Other companies with plans to issue private label Internet credit cards are NationsCredit Distribution Finance and GE Capital.

Hands on, hands off

Article Abstract:

Fellowes Manufacturing, Jabra Corp, Qualcomm Inc and Motorola are some of the manufacturers of wireless accessories which have introduced new products. Fellowes Manufacturing and Jabra Corp have jointly introduced a hands-free set for mobile phones in two styles. Qualcomm's accessory line includes hands-free kits, a data connectivity kit and a desktop charger. Motorola's accessories are headsets for professional use.
