Breaker retrofits: replacement alternative

Article Abstract:

Retrofitting failed medium-voltage air-magnetic circuit breakers with vacuum or SF6 equipment is often a better choice than repairing or replacing the unit. It is more expensive than a repair, but offers the advantages of the new technologies.

Telephone system helps handle trouble calls

Article Abstract:

Northeast Utilities uses a telephone system called Call Coordinator II that identifies the caller from the phone number from which he calls. Other features of the system that apply to electric utilities are described.
