Small motors business experiences ups and downs in sales

Article Abstract:

Small motor makers experienced decreased in volume of orders in the second half of 2000 after enjoying sales and profit increases in the first half of the year. This is because demand for personal and handheld devices that fuel the small motor market was less than expected. For example, demand for cellular telephones in 2000 was only 400 million units instead of the projection of 500 million units made in early part of the year. As a result, small motor manufacturers suffered production adjustment.
