Smart selling in a price-driven market

Article Abstract:

The plummeting prices of flat-panel television have had retailers coming up with innovative merchandising strategies, an example of which is Ken Crane's Big Screen Headquarter's newspaper wraparounds in the L.A. Times and their "Great Audio Experience" advertisement on television. Merchandising strategies of other companies such as Bob and Ron's World Wide Stereo, Marvin Electronics and Starpower, are also discussed.

Home automation growth expected to boom

Article Abstract:

Jeannette Howe, executive of Specialty Electronics Nationwide, has projected that IP-based appliances and kitchen appliance control in particular, will grow tremendously. A research study revealed that home automation will generate $85 billion in revenue by 2011. The growth of home automation in the baby boomer market is also mentioned.
