The use of industrial robots is being evaluated by the Philadelphia Electric Co to work on transmission and distribution facilities to create a safer work environment for humans. Development, use, and application of the robots by electric utility companies is increasing.

Minimize moisture in SF6-insulated subs

Article Abstract:

Gas-insulated electric substations require less maintenance than air-insulated substations. Moisture content needs to be monitored to provide efficient operation and prevent the formation of hydrofluoric acid. Ways to prevent and measure moisture are described.
