The big squeeze

Article Abstract:

The fourth quarter of 2007 in the consumer electronics industry started slow, as economic meltdowns affected the spending of lower- and middle-income customers. T he overall economic condition of the U.S. is uncertain, forcing the industry to take several risks. Economic trends which in turn dictate the trends in consumer spending are discussed.

Vann's prepares for 2008

Montana-based retailer Vann's in 2006 had an estimated overall revenue of $50 million, with estimated consumer electronics (CE) sales of $43 million in the same year. Its business model diversified further in 2007 , and enjoyed much growth in the luxury products sector. An overview of the company is given.
