Trading in electricity futures advances deregulation process

Article Abstract:

Electricity-futures trading could speed up electric-power industry deregulation. The US electricity market is worth $200 billion a year, so trading could boost the wholesale portion of the market to $100 billion a year. Electricity-futures trading volume could exceed $1 trillion a year.
