VMI could help retailers

Article Abstract:

Vendor-managed inventory (VMI) involves suppliers - wholesalers, manufacturers and distributors - managing their own product and deciding when to replenish the retail shelves. This role, which use to be held by retailers, is now reversed and results in a shorter and improved supply chain. This new method in the consumer electronics industry is discussed.
