Zenith's aim at retail: filling the gap

Article Abstract:

Zenith said it will focus less on manufacturing and more on sales and marketing after its research showed that sales staff does not relate strongly with the Zenith brand. New product introductions will be bolstered by hiring a full-time merchandising head and strengthening the company's field training programs. Sales associates will be provided with an interactive guide, while sales employees will be offered an incentive program.

Nab role examined in light of HDTV

Article Abstract:

The National Assn of Broadcasters is expected to address the issue of digital programming in light of the growing demand for high-definition television sets. Although the federal government requires digital TV signals to be sent terrestrially by 2006, there is no existing law that requires broadcasters to create digital programming. The lack of digital programming could stall the demand for digital TVs or HDTV.
