Solution and linear estimation of 2-D nearest-neighbor models

Article Abstract:

A general smoothing method for 2-D random fields described by 2-D nearest-neighbor models (NNMs) with local boundary conditions is presented. The method relies on a general approach to the formulation of noncausal estimation problems, and a Hamiltonian system is used to describe the smoother. In NNM cases, the Hamiltonian is found to be of NNM form, indicating that NNMs capture the intrinsic noncausality of estimation problems in several dimensions.

A Time-Domain Adaptive Algorithm for Rapid Convergence

Article Abstract:

There are several ways to speed up the convergence rates of algorithms. Most of the methods use frequency-domain transformations. A time-domain adaptive algorithm is described, which has the fastest convergence rates. A table compares the performances of algorithms.
