An integrated dynamic performance measurement system for improving manufacturing competitiveness

Article Abstract:

Manufacturing firms have been adopting management, production and quality philosophies to better compete globally, including total quality management, just-in-time and rapid product realization. However, the traditional performance measures used in assessing their success at having used these philosophies are not anymore applicable in today's market. Operational measures must reflect flexibility and relevance to each managerial level. The integrated dynamic performance measurement system was developed as an integrated approach that supports performance measurement system alignment across managerial and operational levels.

An example of the application of production system design tools for the implementation of business process reengineering

Article Abstract:

Business process reengineering (BPR) is involved with the improvement of corporate performance in terms of cost, quality, service and speed through a cross-departmental evaluation, essential rethinking and radical design of business processes. However, a specific set of implementation tools to support the adoption and implementation of BPR. A study demonstrates how tools that have been developed for the design of production systems can be applied to build a customer-focused model of critical organizational core processes.

A conceptual and analytical framework for business process reengineering

Article Abstract:

Business process reengineering (BPR) has become a popular concept in the fields management and information sciences. However, there is a lack of a conceptual and analytical framework amd methodology for its deployment that has resulted in many BPR project failures. A study investigated the use of the soft system methodology process within the context BPR and suggests its application as an analytical framework for the understanding of BPR and as an appropriate methodology for BPR projects.
