Anesthesia: making surgery more bearable

Article Abstract:

Anesthesia is considered as one of the greatest medical innovations in history, easing surgery patients since the 1800s. Anesthetics have gone through several modifications: from the potentially dangerous chloroform and ether, to the more modern, safer formulations. A personal account of surgery and the use of anesthesia is also presented.
