Bell Canada: a case study of dynamics of new technologies in a changing environment

Article Abstract:

Companies encountering competition from other firms, experiencing rapid technological and regulatory changes are analyzed. Such companies are compelled to increase their competitiveness to survive, as exemplified by Bell Canada, Canada's prime telecommunications company. Bell Canada expanded their products and services at a time when threat from other firms increased through provision of other services, newer technological advances and changing consumer preferrence. Survival and growth of threatened firms depend on their ability to respond to challenges and foresight to create opportunities.

Industry and the environment: a case study of cleaner technologies in selected European countries

Article Abstract:

Global implementation of cleaner technologies appears far from being realized, as recent market conditions and industrial structures are virtually ineffective in addressing major environmental concerns. It was also found that majority of European companies pay little attention to environmental regulations and provide meager financial assistance to environmental research. It was further cited that governments and commercial enterprises must coordinate in realizing long-term environmental goals and implementing efficient standards.
