The System for the Vigilance of the Amazon, or SIVAM, is an environmental monitoring system for monitoring and protecting the Amazonian ecosystem. SIVAM, which gathers data via satellites, has been created by a cooperative effort involving the U.S. defense electronics contractor Raytheon Co and two Brazilian companies, Embraer and Atech.
