CCPS recommends process safety metrics

Article Abstract:

The American Institute of Chemical Engineers' Center for Chemical Process Safety has released metrics that propose industry-wide standards for process safety management. The metrics will enable companies to collect data on the performance of their process safety management programs and track changes in performance.

The Information Technology (IT) issues surrounding environment, health and safety (EHS) is assessed and advice for implementing an EHS management information system (EMIS) is presented. Further, ten steps to deploy an effective EMIS with a positive return on investment are suggested.
