Perspectives on the process

Article Abstract:

The viability of community quality councils (CQC), which promote public awareness of total quality management (TQM) methods, has been proven in Richmond, VA and in Sevierville, TN. The CQCs were instrumental in educating the public on how to treat communities as systems with interrelated processes that work for the benefit of the whole. Such mindset empowers people to take the initiative and build new opportunities for growth.

A failure of methods, not philosophy

Article Abstract:

A total quality management (TQM) philosophy and top management commitment is needed for the success of TQM. TQM efforts have failed due to misunderstanding of TQM tools by the people. TQM is a business philosophy which improves the company's performance including financial performance and guarantees its long term survival by improving customer satisfaction and meeting the needs of all its stakeholders.
