Modern switchboards are sophisticated and advanced and can be interfaced with building management systems, monitoring and metering systems. Old incoming isolators are often replaced by mains and standby air circuit breakers. However switchrooms are often designed into small areas and sometimes remote locations whilst building work is at an early stage, meaning that the switchboard is at risk from theft, damage and the elements.
