Cleverness solves integration problems

Article Abstract:

ASK Computer systems (UK) and GTP Communication Systems have developed computer systems for the transfer of information between shopfloor and management systems. ASK has a facility for the transfer of Bill of Materials data to management systems. GTP package, TeleWare enables information transfer via telephone. The interactive nature of TeleWare improves on a similar package, Telelink, that only acknowledged data.

2D geometry solves heat effect problems

Article Abstract:

A Bragg Fibre Grating when mounted in a frame of low thermal expansion coefficient materials, with a rod of high thermal expansion coefficient material makes it possible to counteract thermal effects in the fibre. This simple idea copes with the effects in fibre optic parts, electronic packaging and advanced composite constructions and can be extended to 2D structures.
