Article Abstract:

The invention of turbo codes by two Frenchmen, professors in the electronics department of the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Telecommunications de Bretagne in France by which engineers can pump far more error-free data through a channel with half the transmitting energy is presented. The working of this perfect coding scheme put an end to 40 years of search.

$280 million robot dustup: Roomba maker accuses military contract winner of stealing trade secrets

Article Abstract:

iRobot Corp. has filed a patent infringement and theft of trade secrets case against Robotic FX in connection with the design of their anti improvised explosives device robots. Robotic FX won a contract to supply the U.S. Army with their robots but the Army has decided to freeze the contract and reevaluate Robotic FX's ability to meet the contract.
