Cost dominates thinking

Article Abstract:

The most common technique for rapid prototyping of racing cars is a fully integrated CADCAM. Stereolithography mock-ups can often save money, rather than proceeding straight to metal machining, particularly in the case of injection mould tools. Stereolithography can also be used to produce items containing holes and hollows such as mock-ups of turbine blades containing cooling ducts.
