Coupling and optimizing push back the frontiers. (finite element analysis)

Article Abstract:

Finite element analyses can be set up to include thermal and magnetic effects, although a more efficient approach is required to to solve magnetic and thermal problems separately. A joint research development is aiming to analyse the behaviour of molten material in induction or other electric furnaces. Research is also being undertaken into coupled analyses of alternators and induction furnaces as a way of predicting noise.
