Customer focused lean production development

Article Abstract:

The case of an elevator manufacturer is considered to define the characteristics of a lean organization. One variable that emerged was that a lean enterprise must design its production control, planning system and factory structure in a way that would boost efficiency and flexibility in the production process. A lean organization must also be led by dynamic, multiskilled groups which assume major work and responsibility and has members' support.

Adaptive input control for job-shop type production systems with varying demands using inverse queueing network analysis

Article Abstract:

An inverse queueing network analysis (IQNA) model is developed. The model assumes work-in-process (WIP) principles for multiple product model systems. IQNA generated an optimal measurement of the WIP controlling problem's multiple objective functions within a minimum time frame. The model also produced high standard results for the constant demands over a specific product line and time period.
