Going on-line, not airline: Internet can replace traditional conferences

Article Abstract:

It is worth considering a cyber (or on-line) conference as an alternative to an expensive trip to a conventional conference. Cyber conferences use inexpensive Web-page interfaces to present articles and link people to discuss issues raised in these articles. It is possible to contact delegates privately, and some virtual conference sites offer private chat rooms. It may also be possible to contact the author of a paper directly.
