Energy saving drives key to market growth

A brief review on the way in which legislation is boosting market growth for equipment used in hazardous areas is presented. A study by analyst company IMS Research shows that the overall global low voltage drives market grew 10.5% in revenues in 2004 to reach an astonishing $5.17 billion.

Motors drive wave energy converter

A Scottish firm designs 'Pelamis' a wave energy converter for producing electricity. Specially designed 125kW electric motors drive the wave energy converter and the motors have special rotor laminations and windings to improve generator efficiency.
