Establish a purchasing system

Article Abstract:

Suppliers that are eyeing to capitalize on their quality to gain market strength must be prepared to comply with the industry's ISO 9000 standards. Designed to provide information regarding the quality of products/services rendered to purchasing companies, ISO 9000 standards require companies to acquire products from the approved list of suppliers. This does not only prevent purchasing companies from buying defective products, but also help them make the right orders. Companies must also ensure that the type, class and grade of products/services rendered are distinctly included in the purchase order.

Whatever happened to TQM?

Article Abstract:

The broad idea of a total quality management model in organizational performance is flourishing although the simplistic notions behind the total quality management (TQM) paradigm of the 1980s have long been discarded. Quality concepts such as TQM, ISO 9000, QS-9000, Malcolm Baldrige criteria or continuous improvement can all help firms. However, this can only occur after managers and employees have effected the required cultural and behavioral changes needed to shift the corporate mindset about reducing defects and meeting customer requirements.

Tips for ISO 9000 preparation: inspection ties to other elements

Article Abstract:

International Organization for Standardization (ISO) element 4.10, Inspection and Test, is tied up with other elements of inspection, such as incoming inspection, in-process inspection, inspection of finished goods and offline testing. Individual testing of the other elements of inspection should be done to easily comply with ISO element 4.10. The tie-up with other elements of inspection also makes tracing of incoming inspection records faster.
