Explosive situations: regulations proliferate in the potentially dangerous job of selecting, installing and maintaining electrical equipment in and around explosives buildings

Article Abstract:

Working on sites with buildings that house explosives requires careful consideration of site electrical supplies, selection and siting of electrical equipment, lighting protection and earthing. New guidance from the Health & Safety Executive is note PM 82 The selection, installation and maintenance of electrical equipment for use in and around building containing explosives. It gives advice on earthing and equipotential bonding, lighting protection, wiring systems and maintenance and testing.
