How to teach others to apply statistical thinking

Article Abstract:

The 1996 Fall Technical Conference in Scottsdale, AZ, included a session entitled 'How to Effectively Apply Statistical Thinking in Your Organization,' where attendees participated in an interactive discussion of different scenarios. One of the salient features of statistical thinking is that it involves thought processes rather than numerical methods. Several insights on statistical thinking have been revealed in the session. One insight reflects the universal application of statistical thinking, while another focuses on prioritization as the entry point of the process.
