Inhibited pipe clamp prevents corrosion

Article Abstract:

Pipe clamps made from a polypropylene mix using a corrosion inhibitor is found to prevent crevice corrosion on offshore installations. Stauff UK along with a US partner has developed the material for the clamps, which overcomes oxygen differential cell corrosion in 316 stainless steel tubing in a marine environment, caused by the greater availability of oxygen outside the clamp than within it.

Precision spray forming gets much faster

Article Abstract:

Research shows that Precision Sprayforming (PSF) achieves much higher deposition rates and produces more solid tools with less thermal stress than the Novarc arc spraying process. Die costs are cut by 30% to 50% as compared to traditional processes and lead times for making die also reduces to just a few days.
