Keeping our soldiers fueled - and happy

Article Abstract:

Ann Barrett, senior chemical engineer on the Performance Enhancement and Food Safety Team in the Combat Feeding Division of the U.S. Army Natick Soldier Center's job is to maximize the calorie density as well as taste and sensory appeal of foods with a three-year shelf life. This Combat Feeding Division is responsible for the research, development, testing and engineering that go into feeding U.S. troops in battle.

Dealing with climate change at the local level

Article Abstract:

The cause of climate change could be divided into natural and anthropogenic sources. Engineers should be aware that addressing the problem of climate change needs an examination of alternative causes and the use of alternative solutions. A mathematical model of climate change is also discussed.
