Lessons learned at Perfection

Article Abstract:

Perfection president John Vickerey's dismissal of Tony George as management quality representative has forced the postponement of the company's pursuit of ISO 9000 certification. Perfection's failure to get certification may provide small manufacturers seeking to be certified with insights. The quest for ISO 9000 certification, the process of which could result to production disruptions, requires from a company a committed management and a staff that could provide the necessary man-hours without hurting operations.

Take control of your processes

Article Abstract:

Companies desiring to obtain ISO 9000 certification can be overwhelmed by the detailed requirements of the ISO 9000 document. Key to simplifying the process is to break down the document into its various elements and handling them one by one. For example, compliance with ISO 9000 element 4.9, on process control, is to create appropriate, documented work instructions for all the processes which directly affect the quality of a company's product.
