Manage your people and processes first

Article Abstract:

Manufacturers have felt the need to use the product lifestyle management (PLM) software to cover the entire organization by integrating it with the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. There are, however a few drawbacks that need to be overcome before PLM can be successfully implemented and this involves a change in the mindset of all employees who see the system as a threat more than as an asset.

It's not what you buy, it's how you manage it

Article Abstract:

Project Lifecycle Management (PLM) software fails invariably because users and developers over-complicate the software and fill in all sorts of useless programs. PLM should be all about managing product development through the entire lifecycle of the products and the software should be easy to manipulate for best possible results.
