Managing the company turnaround process: a case study of the Australian heavy engineering industry

Article Abstract:

The seeming lack of reliability in using an understanding of the causes of corporate decline as a guide to turnaround management is prompting turnaround managers to give less attention to the reasons of the decline and instead give greater focus in the creation of an organisation that could adjust to the changing environment. This paves the way for the development of a "self-calibrating" organisation. The study conducted reveals that the successful turnaround companies are those that are able to adjust to changing conditions.
