On leaders and leadership: business excellence models, core value deployment and lessons from the Bible

Article Abstract:

A model of business leadership made up of competence and core value subsystems recognizes that core values can be deployed throughout a company's reward and recognition system and through the use of appropriate performance measures. The core value subsystem fuels systemic leadership, with companies being required to both understand this subsystem and practice its disciplines. These include empowerment, stewardship, listening and sacrifice.

Select leaders using a quality management process

Article Abstract:

Nominal group techniques (NGT) can be used to select executives that will help organizations achieve their goals. The NGT process begins by asking group members to suggest criteria for evaluating candidates. These suggestions are then compiled into a single list and prioritized. The credentials of candidates can then be compared with those on list with qualitative credentials being reviewed quantitatively.
