Gallium capacity to quadruple

Article Abstract:

GEO Specialty Chemicals Inc has announced plans to construct a new gallium metal extraction facility in Pinjarra, Western Australia. The new plant will use GEO's patented process technology to produce 4N gallium metal, which it will then purify to 6N, 7N and MBE grades for the semiconductor and optoelectronics markets. The facility is expected to be operational in the 2nd qtr 2002.
