Pivot point: no solar technology is more charged with promise than photovoltaics

Article Abstract:

Over one-third of U.S. residences can be photovoltaically retrofitted, as well as 270,000 nonresidential sites for rooftop and 1.4 million ground-mounted sites. Photovoltaics may well be a $1 billion-plus sales industry by 1990, when 30,000 will be producing and selling equipment as opposed to the present 3,000 nationally.
