Plastic fixing cuts costs and time

Article Abstract:

The Dovelock fastener, patented in the UK as well as in the US, is an injection molded from glass reinforced nylon resin with a collet molded using acetal and does away with the need for steel bolts by using the properties of the two polymers. The fastener requires very little insertion or pull-out force and can be used for aligning concrete thermal segments, cladding systems and rail track assemblies among other applications.

Manufacturing costs halved using RM

Article Abstract:

A number of companies that manufacture complex joystick steering systems and laboratory centrifuges are using EOS' laser sintering technologies for series production and use rapid manufacturing techniques to reduce time to market and manufacturing costs. Handling of the machine and powder is simplified and the machine has a gas-tight process chamber that ensures a high purity of the process chamber atmosphere.
