The Dovelock fastener, patented in the UK as well as in the US, is an injection molded from glass reinforced nylon resin with a collet molded using acetal and does away with the need for steel bolts by using the properties of the two polymers. The fastener requires very little insertion or pull-out force and can be used for aligning concrete thermal segments, cladding systems and rail track assemblies among other applications.

Continental Automotive Systems Division's ESC (Electronic Stability Control) system has chosen high-impact DuPont Zytel SST (Stiff-Super-Tough) nylon in order to meet the main needs of ruggedness and torsion resistance.
