Process management methodology brings uniformity to DBS

Article Abstract:

Dun and Bradstreet Software Services Inc believed that supremacy in the software industry could only be achieved by gaining customer satisfaction, ensuring innovativeness and rewarding improved employee performance. In this regard, the company pursued total quality improvement through a process management methodology hinged on the principle of 'defect- free products through defect-free processes.' The strategy seeks to instill in employees in all levels values such as consistency, discipline and a drive for self-improvement in eight phases covering all business areas.

How to turn concepts into action

Article Abstract:

One of the ways to successfully create a particular plan of action to address an indefinitely stated objective is to use the tree diagram developed by the Japanese. The tree diagram simplifies the process of transforming general statements into specific plans of action. It gives a structured system that guarantees direct cause-and-effect relationships between objectives and plans of action. It has been recommemded for group use where creativity is improved.

Santa Cruz Guitar Co. is not aware of quality management principles, although a perusal of their management practices and guitar manufacturing process show that the musical instrument company has inculcated total quality management and Deming's 14 points. Details of the quality practices of the company are presented.
