Article Abstract:

FMC Corp of Chicago, IL, and PQ Corp of Valley Forge, PA, have successfully integrated their online SAP systems. The SAP-to-SAP connection allows FMC to process several automated transactions, including accepting orders, checking inventory and confirming product availability, and providing advance notice of shipping. PQ, on the other hand, can process and place orders, make changes, perform evaluated receipt settlement and electronically transfer action-related documents.

Duo to spur organic displays

Article Abstract:

PPG Industries Inc of Pittsburgh, PA, and Universal Display Corp (UDC) of Ewing, NY, have formed a partnership to speed up the commercialization of organic light-emitting diode (OLED) flat panel display technology. Under the terms of the deal, PPG is tasked to assist UDC in developing and commercializing the firm's OLED material system. PPG will also become UDC's exclusive supplier of its proprietary OLED chemical.

Collaboration to develop bioprocesses

Article Abstract:

Maxygen, headquartered in Redwood City, CA, and Chevron Research and Technology Corp of Richmond, CA, have formed a partnership to develop new bioprocesses for petrochemical products. The three-year project will initially focus on the bioconversion of methane to methanol, and on replacing costly chemical processes with less expensive, more environmentally-friendly bioprocesses.
