Quality at work

Article Abstract:

Quality professionals should conduct a career evaluation in the light of changes affecting quality assurance. A career gap analysis would help quality professionals identify career advancement opportunities and exchange beneficial ideas with their colleagues. The key is to add broader, deeper and more profound organizational value instead of just implementing technical and discrete quality assurance strategies. Quality professionals may also lead, participate and advise project teams that enhance business and quality performance within the organization.

Paddling like crazy

Article Abstract:

Career development is likened to a knowledge stream that should be continuously moving or it can lead to professional death. To deal with the moving stream, one should get a boat and paddle vigorously. The moving stream is a changing organization. For the employee to catch up, he should take personal responsibility to gain additional skills. The boat is continuous learning for the individual as well as the organization. Paddling vigorously is the metaphor for constantly reinventing oneself and looking for better opportunities.
